Procedure Description

Through a small incision under the eye ( use for eyelid surgery) and an incision in the mouth above the teeth, the middle of your face is elevated to mobilize your cheek. A small absorbable implant is then used to secure the tissue in your desired facial location, recreating that natural high cheek region. This procedure is often combined with lower eyelid surgery.

Risks

Risks are few but include, swelling, temporary facial numbness, bleeding and infection. Patients are on pain medicine and antibiotics in the post op period.

Post Treatment Instructions

Patients need to take prescribe medications, sleep with their heads elevated and apply ice to the mid face for the first 24-48 hours. Sutures will be removed in 5-7 days. Heavy lifting and strains should be avoided for 2 weeks.
