FaceTite Q & A
What is FaceTite?
FaceTite is a one-step procedure that tightens the skin on your face and other small areas of your body to get an effect similar to a face-lift but without surgery. It uses heat generated by radiofrequency (RF) waves to coagulate the fat below the loose skin, which brings about tightening, a process called RFAL (radiofrequency assisted lipolysis).
What happens during the procedure?
Dr. Karen starts the procedure by numbing the area with a local anesthetic. He then inserts the thin needle or probe of the FaceTite handpiece beneath the skin and places the other probe above the skin. Electric current flows between the two probes, generating controlled heat that brings about fat coagulation and skin stretching.
Dr. Karen monitors the temperature of both the probes in real time to prevent overheating and scarring and also to bring about even skin tightening. The entire procedure lasts around 40-45 minutes.
What areas respond well to FaceTite?
Any area on your face and neck or other small areas of your body that have loose, sagging skin can be treated with FaceTite, including:
- Double chin
- Jowling along the jawline
- Deep lines or loose skin around your neck
FaceTite can also be combined with Fractora™ for optimal results
What happens after the procedure?
You can go home shortly after the procedure and resume your regular activities. It is advisable to apply compression around the treated area for five days. You’re most likely to experience some redness and swelling on your face, but it is typically gone in 7-10 days.
Dr. Karen does not advise any particular at-home skin care regimen, but it’s always good to avoid direct sun exposure and protect your skin with broad-spectrum and high-SPF sunscreen.
The results of FaceTite are evident by the instant tightening of the skin, but patients observe steady improvements over 8-12 weeks as new collagen keeps forming.
Clinical studies have reported 85% patient satisfaction after a FaceTite procedure.
Why is the procedure better than a face-lift?
FaceTite offers many advantages over a surgical face-lift. It primarily works well for people who have mild to moderate sagging around the jaw border and neck. Besides, it is:
- Nonsurgical and minimally invasive
- Highly effective in improving skin laxity
- Safe, with no side effects
- Requires no downtime
If you’re looking for a nonsurgical solution to making your face appear natural and younger-looking, FaceTite’s minimally invasive skin tightening may be the right procedure for you! Schedule a consultation with board-certified facial plastic surgeon Dr. Matthew Karen today.
